GENDER CLASSES

MALE ADULT
Indicates that the character on the card is an adult male.  Adult males are susceptible to all conditions that affect male character cards, be they positive or negative.  To name an example, a "Male Bonding" action card could let the player power up one male character with another.

FEMALE ADULT
Indicates that the character on the card is an adult female.  Adult females are susceptible to all conditions that affect female character cards, whether positive or negative
.  For instance, a "Ladies First" action card could force the opponent to play only female cards for one turn.

MALE CHILD
Indicates that the character on the card is a male child.  Male children are immune to some conditions that affect male character cards, depending on the nature of the condition (read the card in question for details).  However, children are generally weaker than adults.

FEMALE CHILD
Indicates that the character on the card is a female child.  Female children enjoy immunity from some conditions that affect female character cards, depending on the nature of the condition.  However, don't expect kids to pack the punch of their adult counterparts.

OTHER CLASSIFICATIONS
Unless they possess a strong sexual identity, synthetic beings (robots, enchanted objects, etc.) are considered genderless and are not marked with a symbol.  Other sexual identities should be discussed with the game designers, but please note that this is a family friendly game.

SPECIES CLASSES

INVERTIBRATE
Characters with a conspicuous lack of backbone are listed as invertibrates.  These include but are not limited to arthropods (spiders, scorpions), insects (flies, beetles), and molluscs (slugs, squids).  Weak against fish and avians, but strong against primates who find them creepy.

FISH
No longer happy with being dipped in batter, these fish would much rather batter their opponents!  There aren't many of them in furry fandom, but the few who do exist are dangerous predators- and powerful cards.  Weak against the ursine class but strong against invertibrates.

AMPHIBIANS
These aquatic creatures bridge the gap between fish and reptiles, starting out like the former but ending their lives like the latter.  Frogs, salamaders, and newts round out this versatile species class.  Weak against aquatic mammals but strong against synthetics who hate water.

REPTILES
The most advanced of cold-blooded animals, this species class includes snakes, turtles, lizards, dinosaurs, and the mythical dragons.  Armed with venom, fire, and sharp fangs, reptiles are powerful weapons.  Weak against canines and mustelids, strong against primates & rodents.

AVIANS
If it's got feathers, a beak, and wings, it's classified as an avian.  Birds are a diverse group, consisting of both the comedic (penguins, parrots) and the deadly serious (eagles, phoenixes).  Avians are brought down by primates and felines but soar against rodents and fish.

MARSUPIALS
These pouched mammals are a favorite of many furry fans.  This class represents not only the kangaroos and koalas but the marsupial's distant cousins, the egg laying monotremes (platypuses and echidnas).  Weak against primates and canines, but powerful magic users.

RODENTS
Rodents are stubborn and persistent pests... thanks to their prolific nature, they can never truly be defeated.  This species class includes rats, mice, beavers, hamsters, and insectivores (hedgehogs).  Rodents are pursued by felines but hold their own against primates and ungulates.

LAGOMORPHS
Rabbits have always been a popular cartoon staple, so it's no surprise that they're well represented in furry fandom.  They're fast, agile, and potentially very frustrating when in the hands of a skilled player.  Lagomorphs are weak against felines and canines.

UNGULATES
The ungulate class is very diverse, including both the meek (deer, sheep, cows) and the mighty (elephants).  The one thing these creatures share is that they're great at defense.  Ungulates are bested by ursines and canines, and they don't particularly like rodents, either.

AQUATIC MAMMALS
This is another diverse species class, and one not well represented in furry fandom.  Seals, whales, dolphins, and even hippos are members of this class.  Most are fast, skillful predators... but their ideal prey is other aquatic mammals, making them weak against themselves.

MUSTELIDS
The instantly recognizable tail of the skunk acts as a flag of solidarity for all mustelids.  This includes weasels, ferrets, badgers, and the rare but powerful wolverine.  Mustelids are strong against reptiles and rodents, and thanks to their natural defenses aren't weak against anyone.

FELINES
Sweet and charming, or just manipulative?  It's hard to tell with a cat.  This class includes housecats, wild cats, big cats... just about any cat, really.  Hyenas are included, too- they're distant relatives.  Felines fold against canines (natch) but are strong against avians and rodents.

CANINES
There's no questioning the loyalty of a dog... and there's no doubting their hunting skills, either.  With the exception of the devious fox, canines are social animals and work best in packs... or for that matter, decks of cards.  Strong against many classes, particularly felines and marsupials.

PROCYANS
That mask is there for a reason.  Raccoons and their cousins, the coatis and red pandas, are the stealthiest of any species class.  Want to sneak in an attack, or sneak out a valuable ability?  Try one of these guys.  Weak against canines, but can easily outsmart rodents & synthetics.

Need some muscle in your deck?  The bears (and giant pandas) should have more than enough for you.  However, they're lousy magic users, sometimes even devouring magic points until you're bone dry.  Weak against primates and synthetics, but strong against ungulates and fish.

It could be their intelligence, or maybe just those handy prehensile tails, but primates are versatile animals.  This species class includes lemurs, monkeys, apes, and humans (rare in this game).  Strong against many classes, but gets weak kneed at the sight of invertibrates and reptiles.

MAGICAL
This is a very diverse class, consisting of creatures that couldn't possibly exist in our own world. Ghosts and other spirits reside in this class (zoinks, Scoob!), as do seemingly contradictory beasts like fur covered dragons.  Tames canines but falls to the irrefutable logic of procyans.

The most advanced life forms in the game aren't really alive at all, but manufactured beings.  They excel in many areas, and aren't susceptible to gender related conditions... but they are fairly rare.  Synthetics stymie ursines but are quickly disassembled by procyans and primates.

OTHER CLASSES
The classes listed here are pretty general so as to cover the widest possible range of animals.  However, some furries (particularly the more creatively designed ones) are bound to slip through the cracks.  These creatures will be given a question mark as their species class.

RATINGS LEGEND

HIT PTS:  The number of hit points generally given to members of a species class.  The higher the hit points a character card has, the more useful it will be in direct attacks.  200 HP is very low, while 1000 HP is very high.  Initial hit point values can range from 100 to 1500 HP, but only rare cards have less than 200 HP or more than 1000 HP.

MAGIC PTS:  The number of magic points generally given to members of a species class.  Magic points are earned as character cards are played and are subtracted when action cards, some abilities, and multi force attacks are used.  A high number of magic points on a card is ideal.  Values can range from zero to eight points.  In rare circumstances, a character card may actually COST magic points to play or may consume magic points every turn.

TECHNIQUE:  The quality of the abilities associated with members of a species class.  Some character cards include an ability... depending on the character, these are either used the moment the character card is played or can be used whenever the player takes a turn.  Some cards even have abilities which continue to affect the game until they're removed from the playfield.  A high technique rating means that most members of this species class have abilities, including very useful ones.  A low rating means that most members of this species class do NOT have abilities, and the few who do have less useful ones.

DEFENSE:  Hit points generally determine how much damage a character card can receive.  However, defensive abilities can cushion a character card from attacks, or reverse the damage to some degree.  A high defense rating means that most members of a species class are given these defensive abilities.  A low defense rating indicates that members of the species class are not specially protected against attacks.

SOLIDARITY:  This rating determines the amount of friends members of a species class may have.  Although most character cards are given friends (usually other characters from their comics), a species class with a high solidarity rating enjoys special priviledges... character cards in the class may have four or five friends, rather than just two or three.  They may even have the ability to call ANY character from their species class to their defense.  This can be of vital importance if the species class in question is low on the...

FOOD CHAIN:  This rating indicates how safe a given species class is from members of other species classes.  Some characters have abilities that target certain species.  A species class with a high food chain rating is relatively safe from these targeted attacks.  A species class with a low food chain rating is especially vulnerable to these attacks, and may not have an advantage against any other species.
